Golf is a game you can become very good at over time, but you can enjoy it immediately.

Every year thousands of people quit the game of golf in frustration … and this includes people just like you, who could have become very good at the game.

They set their goals, and expectations, a way too high to start, and they try to obtain swing speeds that are simply beyond abilities and skill levels.

Anyone can swing a club with speed, but if you can not control your balance, you will never be able to consistently hit good shots.

“Tempo is the great equalizer, it is what allows all types of people to play and enjoy the game.”

Tempo simply stated is the speed of your swing.

Everyone has a tempo that will best suit their swing.

As a beginner you will want to find the “tempo” that allows you to swing the club and be able to maintain your balance from start to finish.

It doesn't matter how fast you swing a club or how far you hit the ball, what does matter is keeping the ball in play.

In the end all that counts is how many times you had to hit the ball, not how far it went.

Your swing speed and the distance you hit the ball will increase as your technique and physical fitness improves.

You don't have to shoot par or be anywhere close to it. When you're learning to play “have fun and enjoy yourself.”

It will be a combination of these three elements that will affect the speed of your swing and the level at which you can play the game.

Proper Technique

Athletic Ability and Conditioning

Proper Equipment

Studies have shown that close to 45% of the variance in swing speed is related to fitness and about 55% will be related to technique and equipment.

So even if you are not in top physical condition to start, with a couple of lessons, some practice and golf clubs that will match your swing.

You will be able to achieve an acceptable level of golf that will get you out on the course and enjoying the game in a reasonably short time.
